iPhone Firmware Update 3.1.3

Apple released an update for the iPhone. Release 3.1.3 fixes some issues like;

  • improves accuracy of reported battery level on iPhone 3GS
  • resolves issue where 3rd party apps would not launch in some instances
  • fixes bug that may cause an app to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard
  • Tethering is back (even on the non exclusive carriers)....
    Results may vary since not every carrier allows tethering (like T-Mobile in the Netherlands).

After I updated my SIM-lock free iPhone (just connect the iPhone to iTunes, and the magic happens), my voicemail settings were gone, so I needed to re-enable the voicemail settings for the KPN network in the Netherlands.

Just follow the following procedure;

Have the phone 'dial' the following: *5005*86*voicemailnumber#
Where voicemailnumber is the number you dial for accessing your voicemail. For KPN in the Netherlands: 1233 (or +31 6 1200 1233 if you want it to work abroad)

Other (custom) settings seem to be intact.
